I entered fifteen month old Etive in the Cotswold and Wyevern Labrador Retriever Club’s puppy working test yesterday. She hasn’t really been out and about much because of covid, so I wondered what her reaction would be to all the other dogs and handlers, but she stayed calm and took everything in her stride. Etive listened to me and handled nicely, as well as having the confidence to pick a couple of blind retrieves on strange ground. We had some lovely comments from the judges, including praise for Etive’s tidy delivery, and I was very pleased to be awarded fourth place.
