Last year was busier than ever, and I have thoroughly enjoyed competing with the dogs in both working tests and trials.
Riska was chosen to take part in the Southern Intercounties team event at Windsor, representing UGS Kent and East Sussex. There were some strong teams there, and Riska ran well, helping our team to come midway down the field. Riska was also placed in a couple of open working tests, before ending the summer on a high by winning an open test. Luck was against us with trials this year, but my highlight would have to be the UGS two day open at Windsor, when Riska picked all her retrieves on the first day without me needing to use my whistle, but sadly scent was against us on day two.
The highlight for Moidart was being the novice dog on the Arun and Downland team in the Southern Interclub team event, in which our team was placed second.
Several friends very kindly invited me on their training days this Summer, and this has been a big help, as well as hugely enjoyable.
