Moidart is now 11 months old and her training is progressing well – so well that I decided to enter her in the SEGS puppy test last Saturday.
She stayed calm all day and took everything in her stride. The tests were a mark to shot, three shots fired as she walked to heel followed by picking two blinds, a double mark to shot, a blind without shot, and a walk up. Moidart picked every retrieve and handled well when asked, so I was pretty chuffed to be awarded 2nd place along with the Wadeshot cup for the best puppy under 15 months old.
Moidart’s brother Bear came 3rd in his first puppy working test, was awarded the cup for the best puppy on his second outing (the second year in a row that a Fletchingly puppy has won this cup), and has just won a charity puppy test.
Shona and Riska both ran in the UGS open yesterday and completed all the tests sucessfully, with Riska doing better than her mother by 6 points. Riska wasn’t very far behind the award winners, so I was happy with her performance. My lovely friend Marianne Copp won with her beautiful boy Cosmo.
