Fox red Labrador gundog

Puppies in the ribbons

One of my new puppy owners has recently set a record for speed in gaining a rosette which I doubt will ever be broken; Steve collected his boy Hector on Friday night, and took him to his local gundog club’s funday on the Sunday, where they were awarded second place in the puppy competition. I hasten to add that Hector stayed in his crate or in Steve’s arms all day, because he hasn’t yet had all his vaccinations.
The six puppies that have left here seem to be settling well in their new homes, and I was rather amused to hear that one boy had been quiet for the first 24 hours, but was now behaving like Zebedee on steroids.
Yesterday I ran Riska in the URC novice competition at Popes Oak, and was delighted to come second, only one point behind the winner. There were 40 dogs running, and Riska is only 19 months old, so I am very proud of her, and it goes without saying that I am grateful to my brilliant trainer, Graham, and all the rest of the people I train with.
