The puppies are now 16 days old and they all have their eyes open. They are walking, rather than crawling, and can move surprisingly fast, particularly when they spot their mum when she comes back from her walk.
They have been wormed for the first time, three days in a row, but they shouldn’t have a heavy worm burden because Shona was wormed every day from day 40 of pregnancy until 2 days post whelping.
Shona keeps her pups spotlessly clean, and if one of them wriggles and protests, she holds it down gently with her paw.
