Training has started

The puppies are now 3 1/2 weeks old and have their milk teeth through, and they are busy exploring everything with their mouths, so they enjoy clambering over any stray human being who happens to venture into their box.
Early toilet training makes my life easier, so this week I have put a strip of newspaper at one end of the whelping box to serve as a loo, and I kid you not, they started using it straight away. Shona is now choosing to sleep apart from the puppies, so the new arrangement ensures the vet bed stays clean when she is not there to clean up after them.
